Apostle Verna J. Broady

Apostle Verna J. Broady is founder of the Apostolic Training Center, located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Brought up in a home filled with physical, emotional and mental abuse from an alcoholic father, Verna’s life turned into a cycle of alcoholism, drugs and crime, which eventually led to imprisonment.  In 1980, while incarcerated, Verna had a life changing experience and she dedicated her life to the Lord Jesus Christ. Since that day, her passion has been, “That I may know Him”.  After her release from prison, she became an active and committed member of the New Covenant Church of the Lord Jesus Christ (NCC) under the leadership of Bishop J.E. Turner.

Verna served in several capacities as a leader and was ordained an Elder in 1990.  As an Elder, she led the Evangelism Ministry, organized crusades in the inner city of Washington, DC and ministered in adult and juvenile prisons.  She also served as the leader of the Jesus Day Prayer Ministry, Issachar Cell Group, and Director of the Music Ministry, conducted Praise and Worship seminars and taught many classes.

Verna’s hunger for the word of God, desire to grow and understand the prophetic ministry caused her to enroll in the Christian International (CI) School of Ministry in Florida under Dr. Bill Hamon.  Upon completing the CI training, she was certified to train, impart and activate others in their membership ministry gifts.  With this training, she was honored to take the prophetic teaching to the airwaves as a featured guest on Heaven 1580 AM and WYCB 1340 AM, where she shared insight on personal prophecy and the fivefold ascension gifts to the body of Christ.

After serving at NCC for 18 years, Verna was released as Prophet to pioneer the Apostolic Training Center in 2001 and was later ordained an Apostle in 2003.  In 2008, Verna became a member of the International Society of Deliverance Ministers.  In 2009, Verna was again confirmed as Apostle through IMPACT Network of Apostles and Prophets under John J. Eckhardt, founder & Presiding Apostle.  Fulfilling the call to the nations, Verna traveled with the Simon’s Branch Mission Team to Durban, South Africa in 2011, where she ministered to orphans, AIDS patients and preached the gospel.  In 2014, Verna traveled to Honduras to minister at the CIRYS Women’s Conference.  Today, she continues her passion to see the saints equipped for the work of the ministry and to raise up a prophetic culture.

Apostle Broady is the mother of two daughters, one son-in-law, three grand-daughters, and one grandson.  She currently resides in Hyattsville, Maryland.
